Coals to Newcastle

So what do you take on a visit to the friend who introduced you to this whole canning lark in the first place? Thanks to those lovely TSA restrictions, it has to fit in my single piece of checked luggage, probably wrapped in ziplocs and then nestled in a shoes.

I did a lot of thinking about this one, and at the end of the day have come up with something that I don’t think she’s made, and something that may be different enough for her to actually like it.

Watch this space for details. She might read this blog. I can’t risk giving away the secret before the gift has actually arrived.

    The rhubarb ginger jam is yummy!! Nice tang, and then the ginger kicks in!
    And your peppery peach (nectarine for me) is less runny than mine.

    Surprise, surprise … we’ve tested out a few other recipes. You’ll hear about it soon enough, I’m sure.
